     MLB, would also play shortstop. Described in 1917 as throwing a "perfect spitball." Was the league's leading pitcher in 1918. 
    While pitching for the Anthracite League Mahanoy City Bluebirds under the name of Petey Brown in 1924, he was thrown out of the game for applying tobacco juice to the ball. news
     In 1926, article said that he had a "dandy fast ball when in condition", but "is inclined to lose effectiveness quite often" due to his arm being frequently sore. source. Another 1926 article called him the slowest pitcher in the International League (source). 
    BR says he was 5'10", but a 1922 article calls him 5'6" (source). Same article says the developing of his change-up was what allowed him to pitch in the majors. 
    Described as silver-haired in 1923 (source)
   
Carl Brown, pitcher, Dunkirk Alcos
    Was overseas with 307th Field Artillery for about a year, and went through hard fighting. Had been mainstay of Alcos before that. source
