Jimmy "Wiggly" Black
1924-2-24 has retired
1924-3-24 misc. Art Rooney refused to succeed Jimmy Black as manager of the Northside Traders.
1924-4-08 "No less than seven of the big time clubs have turned in their last game" - incl Northside Traders
1924-6-01 Jimmy Black cut away this spring just because he was not appreciated and it is now that without a team at the Saltworks fields they miss the congenial Jimmy and his crack ball tossers.

1932-8-19 preview for game which was to be broadcast on Cleveland radio
1932-8-22 "Bimmy Steele, side-arm cross-fire king, pitched one of the greatest games of his sandlot career in hurling the Al Koran Shrine team to its second straight victory over Al Sirat Grotto in Cleveland. Steele had marvelous control, a sharp-breaking curve and dazzling speed. There also was good umpiring.
Lute Boone, cavorting at short for the Shriners, also showed that some club here overlooked a talented infielder, even though he is regarded as a veteran minor leaguer. Steele and Nelson Reeves, left fielder, were presented wrist watches for their outstanding work in the victory."
