    1921-7-02 Ad for game to be played at Simmons Field while the Bedmakers are abroad: Chicago Magnets v. Chicago Gunthers, admission 40 and 20 cents. Allegedly a Chicago Mid-West League, though neither team appears in the standings.
    1921-7-08 Simmons sign Pug Cavet. Previous industrial teams had tried but failed to sign the Pug.
    1921-8-02 Simmons batting. Hippo Vaughn signs with Beloit Fairies. Manager Zievers is 5-for-8 as pinch-hitter. 
    1921-8-06 Simmons team working out arrangement with Ke-Nash-A club for city championship of Kenosha.
 
    1921-9-18 Joliet Standards 6, Simmon Bedmakers 4. 12 innings. 3K ATT. Zievers hit game-tying pinch-hit double, but Bedmakers lost game in extras.

    1907-9-06 Standings. Hurley averages. Northern-Copper Country League had poor season financially, and probably will not return. Virginia team is after the MN state championship. 
    1908-5-08 (Hurley) Two former Hurley pitchers are now with Madison State League team.
    1908-6-05 (Hurley) Misc. Ironwood won game 4-3 - three runs scored on a play in which Ironwood batter tackled Bessemer catcher, knocking out all his upper front teeth. Like last year, Ironwood wants to win no matter the means.

member of nine championship teams in 19 years of pitching - three in Lake Shore League, one in Fox River Valley League, three in Wisconsin-Illinois, and two in American Association. 

Story of first pitching appearance in 1910 feels apocryphal : mother died that morning, he wasn't going to go to game, pitcher hurt in car crash, Buster called upon at home by crowd of friends, won 21 inning game 2-1.

1914-7-30 Both Wausau and Green Bay of WI League are interested in him. He has won eight of his ten games this year, including two shutouts and a heap of three-hit games. Includes box for recent 3-hit shutout of Wausau Eagles.
1914-8-13 Went to Wausau for beginning of series of games then returned to Marshfield in evening to pitch
1914-9-10 Pitcher for Green Bay in WI League; pitched for Marshfield last Sunday, and will winter here.
1915-3-25 Marshfield's mound aces of 1914, Johnson and Kerhberg, will pitch again for them this year.
1915-4-22 Is traveling to Superior to tryout for the Northern League club of that town, accompanied by his outfielder brother, George.

    An incredible litany of stats over last two years with Marshfield furnished.
    "Furthermore, this budding sensation is 25 years old, but being married is in Class 4, so is immune for the draft, at least for the time being."
1920-10-30 "Oscar Johnson, who has been running a hotel in Manitowoc, sold the business, and returned to this city. He was prominent here a few years ago as the star pitcher of the local baseball club."
1923-2-01 (Marshfield News-Herald) Grand Rapids purchases contract for $500.
    "In the post-season game last year he won the series from London in the Ontario League. Oscar was extremely popular with the Ludington team and fans who will regret his leaving. He was known as a heady, consistent player, not the flashy erratic style which is very common in athletics."
    Known as "The Terrible Swede." Not very happy to go to Grand Rapids - has a tender spot for Marshfield, and would like to play there again.    
    "Baseball was as its best in this city when Johnson was on the mound. Two years ago, after receiving Johnson's offer to pitch here, the local management hired an inferior pitcher at the same price."
